On Monday evening, June 14, volunteers from the Triangle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross assisted 26 people who were displaced from their homes at the Green Castle Apartment complex in North Raleigh. Members of the Disaster Action Team responded to the call for assistance received from the Raleigh Fire Department. The displaced residents were assisted with temporary lodging and food. Volunteer caseworkers will be working one on one with the families to develop recovery plans based on their individual needs and available resources. Assistance to these families may include clothing, bedding and rental assistance.
