Severe Weather Threatens Triangle
Thunderstorms and Tornadoes Possible
The Triangle and surrounding area will be experiencing inclement weather tonight, Wednesday, March 9 through tomorrow afternoon. The storms will bring heavy winds and rain, possible flooding and possible tornadoes. More information on the storm system can be found at the National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook.
Resisdents should take proper precautions including the following:
- Choose a safe, interior room on the lowest level of your home for your family to gather during the storm away from windows, glass doors and skylights
- Secure or bring items indoors that could be caught in strong winds and become projectiles (trash cans, hanging plants, furniture, etc.)
- Bring in any outside pets
- Ensure you have plenty of household supplies on hand
- Have a hand-crank or battery-operated radio for further weather advisories and updates
